deup, buy yourself an XShot camera extender if nothing else.  Some guys like to have something permanently mounted on their boats, but the XShot is quickly and easily deployed by hand and you can take pics from any angle you want.

I have a quikpod, it is the same type of thing as an xshot... that is a handheld monopod.  Not much to go wrong really.  I havn't tried mine yet but if I get anything nice tomorrow I will use it.  I'll write up a quick review as well...  here's their site http://www.quikpod.com/Home.asp

These have universal threads that fit any point and shoot camera

Most SD cards go fairly cheap now.. Walmarts carry 2GB cards for like $20.. they aren't much anyway.. if you have a Walmart in your area then you should be good in the electronics section... if not then try The Source..Old Radio Shack stores... anything along those lines or even your local photo lab should have them or know where you can get one inexpensively.

Did you get one yet there Deup??  I picked mine up at London Drugs. Works good, unfortunately I have not had a chance/reason to use it while out fishing.
