« on: May 10, 2016, 08:42:12 pm »
As the title states what's your go to bass bait?
What is your go to on opening day?

I have had great success with strike kings, rage tail 4" grub coffee flavour. Color white.
This is what I will start opening day with

I like a tube for smallmouth and a senko for largemouth.  I like a jerkbait and spinnerbait too....

Got to Put some top water in here.
Poppers, Walk the Dog baits, Toads, Hollow Belly frogs, Buzz baits...
First cast on opening day is pretty well always a top water for me.
Still a wait for that, but pike and walleye open here this Saturday, finally.

for river smallies, I will always go to a cotton cordell super spot ( lipless crankbait), lake smallies I like tube jigs. as for the old bucketmouth, I like tiny torpedoes ( topwater) or a soft plastic jerk bait.

looking forward to using these lures at the Sleepy Hollow  tourney on opening weekend! it will be nice to meet some folks from this site & put a face to your future posts

This is what I meant by "Toads":

Think these will work a bit better than SK Rage toads, and will be a hoot to fish with in the grass.

This is mainly for largies.

Mine would be a hula popper or jitter bug. Colour depends on ambient lighting at the time.
