Kayak wars 2016
« on: February 10, 2016, 05:56:59 pm »
Registration for kayak wars 2016 opens this Saturday @ noon.
There will be no free registration This year, so I guess for us up here in the cold white North there is no real reason to rush out and register.

Thought this would be a good time if any one is looking for a team or a team looking for member to let us know.
So if u need a team or member post it here.

Good luck in KW and kayak angling in 2016

There use to be  team prizes and certificates in 2013.
The last couple of years, its just been  fun with the team standings.

The guys taking this seriously probably want to be on teams where they
can get the most points and not worry too much about monthly caps.

Think most of us, doing KW, are doing it for the personal record keeping
and are not too worried about team standings.

Got to admit team Nouveau Norsemen rocked last year though and I
am up for keeping that team going, and am pretty sure it will have a
new fifth member for more specie diversification.  :)

Need a little help from you..the CKA members in KW.
you may want to  ask Jason @KW about the imbalance in international points.
I'm Waiting for a response from Jason but we need more people from Canada trying to even out the points between Europe and the rest of the international field. Leo has 8 fish for over 500points!!!
I caught 3 browns and they were over just half of the points combined as one of his browns.
If KW wars insists on their current layout with International anglers & teams.  we need a level playing field.
So speak up... email KW and see if we can get this changed or at least put Europe in their own category for teams and anglers.
8 small fish for 500 points I am blown away.

I took a look.   That guys biggest trout is listed at 59 units, which for Europe is cm.  The trophy length in the points distribution chart is 35 inches.    I don't know if that should read 35 cm or not.   If 35 cm is intended to be the trophy length, then he is getting fish way past trophy length.

If anything I would think their trophy length perhaps should be adjusted based on the fish he is catching.

Yeah looking at point distribution clearly the trophy points are too high and trophy lengths too small. 14 in brown shouldn't be considered a trophy anywhere...

A 14 in brown wouldn't even count here in North America but supposedly if you catch one in Europe it is worth as much as a North America 5.5 ft freshwater Tarpon...

Looking at Leo's career totals he averages over double what we do here in Canada so obviously they have an advantage there. I sent an email to Adrian asking them to make some changes if they expect us to compete against each other.

Make sure you smite this post Curtis, you missed a couple lately lol...

Ive already sent in a post and a email. Both on hold till they post it. But clearly all there points are way outta whack to be in our international division. Individual and team . We also should be layed out in centimetres. We are also on metric system

If I see any more abuse of the karma system that person will be immediately banned.
Remember I can see everyone who gives those karma points.  I know who is abusing it.

Aside from this.
I've said I want this thread kept clean.  It stays that way or it gets shut down.

It was a mistake to make a separate division for Canadian in the first place.  Making us a Region is all that they should have done.

If Kayak Wars was Canadian Based then maybe we can make more demands.

You can't manipulate things everytime you don't like the changes they make.
