Do you ever look at all these flies and decide they are too nice to leave hanging from a tree on the edge of a river?

Or does that only happen when I fly fish?

Good luck on your trip!

nice hoppers, very similar to what my grand father used to tye. I wonder if it's the same pattern?  make them up yourself or use a book pattern?

70f??!!! I tried shore fishing here yesterday, 45kph winds  and constant ice flows - brrr. so nasty that even though I hooked up a couple times, after a couple hours I went home for a nap... and dreams of 70f fishing.

Its a pattern I learned out of a magazine I used to read called fly tyer! They were talking about the history of hoppers and how the bodies were made out of sealed pieces of quill. The bodies of the fly I tied here are actually dollar store foam glued together in color layers!

thanks Flyfisher, I bet he used sealed quills! I always wondered about that. I've never used his flies since I was an adult and realised how precious they were. they make great examples of what we can produce.
