I just posted up my first fish of the year.  Didn't realize Michelangelo had been that busy and successful.  Nice to see my old tarpon getting some serious slime!

Yes, prizes do take a while.  I remember hearing last year the same thing.   Be patient Joe!

Trying to keep pace with you guys had me on the North Sask river yesterday morning, dodging ice bergs and various other debris. Less than 6" of water clarity and a pretty good flow only had me out for a couple hours & no fish. Slowly building my confidence on flowing waters.

KC, you can't beat the power of the peddle in flowing waters.  I wouldn't be enjoying the sport to the extent that I have if it weren't for peddling a kayak.  With Native Watercraft's latest entry into the market, there are more choices.

With the number of converts from this site alone over the winter, I think the paddle purists will be outnumbered soon.

I have no doubts that it would be the way to go on rivers and could see myself maybe adding one to my fleet in the future for that purpose alone. Tell you tho, I do love  paddling my butt off in highwinds, and waves, its a huge part of the rush, challenge and enjoyment I get out of kayak fishing.

I can relate, for those of us that braved the Detroit River this weekend we have sore butts from the hard peddling.

Finally found some water that wasn't still froze over and got bit for the first time this season. It just happened to be large enough to register for Kayak Wars
