nice idea, especialy for chain pickerel and some pike, but for big stripers or muskies it wouldn`t work, you can`t hold them at arms length to take the shot. it would still be good to get an idea of it`s size, which would help if you were checking to see if it was in the slot or a keeper length, or if it was just for personal info.
whoever has the most fishing gear when they die wins!
