Ouird,

What kind of Kayak mounts are those?  Where did you pick them up at?  That's exactly what I'm looking for.

Thanks,

Kyle

the mounts are Malone SeaWings
they are mounted on a Thule 450 rack (feet) with a 52 inch load bar.

I've got 2 sets of Malone Sea Wings mounted on my truck with a Princess Auto truck rack - for carrying 2 Hobie Outbacks.  I like carrying the hobies 'right-side-up', and the Malones fit the hulls quite well.

Just received my Malone Seawings, they look sweet.  I hope I get to try them out this weekend.

Does anyone have suggestions of how to mount a yak on this kind of roof rack?

What about that one? Are there products made to easily adapt kayak mounts to this style of expedition rack?

Jeff, won't the seawing style of mount fit on that rack?

Im concerned with the spread of the kayak. I thought maybe someone knew of an additional product available to adjust the distance between the front location of the saddle and the back. As it is on the second picture it is super far back and in the first it looks like a bar would need to be added in order to add the second saddle. If you have the saddles way apart the kayak gets improper support. and to close it warps it pretty bad.

Additional crossbars is your best bet, I've got two options here that will work the lighter one is $119 & the stronger version is $272 & either would give you adjustable spacing front to back attached to the side rails.

They would attach anywhere along the length to the top front-back rail & they  are removable

Or make your own crossbars , a couple of pieces of 2x2 (wood) or 1x1 (metal) & some "U" bolts or other hardware & bolt it on. 1x1 metal if your adding aftermarket craddles

I just bought this expedition rack for my vehicle.

Do you have the adapters for this style Mike? Do you have a link to the two styles you mentioned?
