all gopro2's are the same camera, they just come with different accessories.

as for sales, you'd probably find the gopro hero 3 (silver) to be compareable in price to the gopro 2. and you'd have a newer product with more support (unless you found them previously owned).

JC if you end up buying used (or even new for that matter) make sure you take a picture with it 1st (with an sd card in it) if the file name (which comes up like "GP00001") and they say its new, then dont buy it... its been used.  if they say its been rarely used, you will know this by that same number... the lower the better.

Stroover--Re where to buy--I have been looking at getting the gopro3 silver and believe it or not, West Marine seems to have one of the best prices. i believe it is $299. (Have I entered an alternate universe or something? Plugging West Marine--Good God!) They will sometimes price match too. My question for those who have used them for a year or so is, aside from the mounts, what attachments/accessories are handy to have?

FYI, if you have a local best buy/Futureshop, they also price match, and beat the other price by 10%

Hook1 has them as well if you are buying gear from them.

With all my GoPro cameras I find that I use the tripod mount, the head strap, suction cup mount, extra batteries, and the remote. I couldn't be without extra batteries. The newer cameras don't have the battery life of the earlier generations for obvious reasons. I always carry a couple extra charged batteries and an extra card just in case. I have missed so many great clips because I was turning the cameras off to save power. I still miss some good clips because I forgot to turn the camera on, but these misses are less frequent. :)
