Start early this year though. Cause we missed 2 weeks of action last year. Those female walleye run up when its ugly out. Then the males :) Get us a fatty this year. We need a 10 LBER from a yak :)

After trying to figure out where to put the permanent mount I gave up and bought the tripod adapter and a little gorilla pod which should allow me to put it on any number of places on the yak, anywhere with rigging lines even seems to be enough to hold it solid.  I've sacrificed one of my paddle leases to protect it from falling in the drink as I read they do not float.

I originally was using the Kodak Playsport but because of the low battery life and the lack of a wide angle lens. (I don't want a glue on lens) I purchased the Drift HD.  Along with the wide angle lens which gives you 127deg at 1080p and 170deg at 720p the extended life battery that came standard with the camera was a a bonus.

I can mount closer because of the wide angle and can reach it to turn on, where with the Kodak I had to set back where it was difficult to turn power on.  The 4 hour life of the Drift compared to the 1 hour on the Kodak was also a big plus.  I tried out the camera and was impressed so much I bought a second one.  Both were purchased for $159.00/ea including the better battery.

The remote works very well and can be paired to both cameras.

For editing I use Premier Elements, which is an Adobe product.

Has anyone bought the new GoPro2? I have some friends that upgraded and said it is a lot better quality?

The new one does 1080P at 120 FPS (frames per second) or something, the original HD one only did 30 FPS at full HD. I think I'm going to get one for sure, if you ever want to slow motion anything the extra FPS are great.

With the original HD I recorded in R3 mode and had best results, its not full 1080 but its the widest option with 60 FPS.

I haven't used my GoPro for fishing yet, hopefully this week. Here is what I have used mine for so far: http://fraservalleywhitewater.com/creeks/pamela-creek-video/

I also use Premiere Elements by Adobe, good mix of features but still usable by an average Joe . . . . .after a bit of frustration  ;)

Hey guys, where's the best place to buy these gopros? Are you buying them online somewhere? What's the best reasonalbe price for a hero2? And is there a difference in the camera itself between an outdoor one and a riding one?
