What would you choose?
Pelican Apex 130 angler SOT
or...
Ascend FS12T SOT

They are within $50 of each other.

each has their benefits
the Horizon has footrest added where the Ascend has moulded in.
The Ascend comes with decent seat, the Horizon, simple back band.
Ascend 56lbs, Horizon 67lbs.
You'd really have to print off spec sheets for both and go see them both

If I may jump in here, my brother and I just picked up the Horizon 130 angler a few months ago. However, there are a few differences between the latters and the Apex. The horizons are rigged w/a scotty rod-holder(which makes it easier to add/remove accessories on the inboard mount), are made of Poly-xr vs Ram-x, and come with a rudder. (this adds 2 pounds bringing it up to 69). Super stable, we can stand and cast even on main rivers with a little wind. As for the Ascend, we have never used it so really have no input on this particular kayak.
But as bellybuster said, you should look at the specs for all these kayaks before deciding..  :) :) :) Good luck and good fishing!

Hey Dan, thanks for your input. What did you pay for a Horizon 130? I seen one yesterday in Edmonton for $1099.99. Good deal?

oops sorry, it was the Apex you were looking at. The Horizon I believe to be a far superior yak to the Ascend. twice the price too though.
I had my yaks mixed up.

The pelican castaway looks interesting, is it in the same price range as the Ascend? Looks to be the horizon hull made of Ram-ex

Is Ram-ex the same material Coleman used on their 90 lb. canoes. If so no wonder the Pelicans are at least 110 pounds overweight.

God Bless,
