General Kayak Modifications / Re: Garmin Striker 5CV Fish Finder Wiring question

Google says they are just wires to connect to other Garmin units to share the data(I assume to run multiple units off same transducer etc). Doesn't appear you would need them.

General Discussion / Re: Transducer Arm vs. In hull GOOP mount?

I just velcro the battery to the inside of the hull. No box required. I've never had a problem with this battery installation. Others have reported McGuyvering some sort of waterproof box and I've never understood whyj they've felt the need but to each their own.

Thank you. I'm sure it would work great but I need something to keep me in the garage :) lol

Transducers directly in the water get the best readings. How to mount a transducer can depend on size and type.
Some mount snuggly using a scupper mount ( some  Lowrance / Hummingbirds ). Would be nearly impossible to goop some Raymarine ducers ( big long skinny thing ). I will never goop a transducer again due to poor readings through hull.

Thanks for the feedback... I'm about to build the battery box first. I keep changing my mind. hahah
