Title: Slidetrax system
Post by: Terrannator on May 10, 2014, 06:54:00 pm
I have a wilderness ride 115 advance currently ordered and have been looking to get a rod holder for it by the time it comes.  The harmony site wouldn't recognize my zip code since it's in canada. Is there anywhere else to get accessories for the slide trax system that would ship to canada? Saskatchewan specifically.  I checked Hook1 and didn't find the piece I need.  Thanks

Scotty makes a track adapter. I use them on my Ride 135 and Tarpon 120. I love them. You can use any Scotty rod holder or accessory into them. If you can't find them anywhere there, let me know. I can order them from Scotty along with anything else you need.

Doesn't anything that fits the GearTrac system fit the Slide trax as well?

Yeah any of the track gear pretty much works with any system. I stick with Scotty over Ram and YakAttack since they are a Canadian company. Plus I prefer the Scotty gear.

Not a huge fan of scotty i find it huge and bulky looking. Before I had my kayak and was just looking into it i thought scotty was the be all, end all until i got into it more and realized the potential of all the other companies out there

Yeah. It is personal preference. Like I said my main reasons are they are Canadian, they sponsor our tournaments and this forum and I prefer the definite lock on their gear. Again. All personal preference.

I've been trying to order from hook1 for the past three days, but when I try to move my shopping list to the shopping cart it comes up with a server error. I've tried on multiple computers and still no luck, any advice?

Scotty gets top marks locally--which I know doesn't apply to most people on here but still, for those of us who live within range of their factory here on Vancouver Island, they are unbelievable. They take people's down riggers and service them for free, even replacing some parts that are 15 years old for nothing. They also take the time to show you tips and tricks on maintenance and upkeep when you go into the factory.

If you're looking for Ram products, check out GPS City in Calgary, they ship anywhere and are reasonably priced.  Ram makes the screw ball that works with all track systems that you can use with their type of rod holders.  I personally like the Scotty rod holders and their gear track adapters myself, but for my fish finder I purchased Rams Lowrance quick release adapter, double socket arm, screw ball and transducer arm which I hope to test out this weekend.  Good luck in your decision and make sure you post pics of your kayak once you get it.
